Heveya® Singapore × Joyce Liew
An ongoing collaboration rooted in natural living and conscious wellbeing.

The Collaboration

Joyce has been a Heveya® customer for over eight years — long before this collaboration began. Heveya®'s commitment to natural, sustainable living mirrors the Ayurvedic principle of living in harmony with Nature. Their mattresses are crafted from 100% natural organic latex — free from metals, synthetic foams and toxic materials — providing responsive support that contours to the body's natural curves, supporting spinal alignment and relieving pressure on the neck and joints. For Joyce, whose work is rooted in restoring the body's natural alignment, this is foundational.

About Heveya®

Heveya® is Singapore's first fully certified organic latex mattress brand, founded on the belief that there is a way to sleep better, naturally. Sustainably sourced, free from synthetic materials and designed to last.

Sleep & Āyurveda

An evening event hosted at Heveya® Singapore · 32 Eng Hoon Street

Joyce was invited by Heveya® to host an intimate evening event at their Singapore showroom — exploring the relationship between Ayurveda and sleep.

Sleep is one of the pillars of health in Ayurveda. It is the only time when tissues regenerate, muscles repair and the deeper metabolic processes of the body quietly do their work. At the event, Joyce explained the role of the doshas in sleep quality — what disturbs it and how simple daily rituals can restore it.

Why We Need Deep, Restful Sleep

The body and mind require genuine rest. The senses, overstimulated by screens and constant connectivity, need stillness. The nervous system needs permission to release. Most chronic health concerns can be meaningfully addressed by prioritising deep, restorative sleep.

What Disrupts Our Sleep

In Ayurveda, disturbed sleep is always a symptom — never the problem itself. Heavy, dull sleep points to Kapha aggravation. Insomnia, waking at 2am, a restless mind — these are Vata aggravation signs. Knowing your constitution is the beginning of understanding your sleep.

A Simple Āyurvedic Sleep Ritual

Avoid screens at least one hour before bed
Avoid caffeine and alcohol after dinner
Avoid late night snacking
Abhyanga — self-massage of the feet, neck, chest and stomach with warm oil
A warm bath, followed by 10–15 minutes of meditation or pranayama
Rasayana — warm milk with ghee and honey, or a cup of herbal tea

Cultivating a sleep routine is an act of care — for the body, the mind and the Self.
